Valentine's Baby

Julie and Chad's second son, Noah Riley, was born yesterday and he’s cute and wrinkled and kinda laid back.

I think he realized his time was up and when he heard he was going to be evicted on Friday with a C-section, he decided to arrive on his own terms. We can't quite see who he looks like yet, but my sister lovingly refers to him as a little elf.

Jakob didn’t know what to make of the situation at first when we arrived. Noah was being bathed and he had time to sit with his mom. Once Noah arrived in the room there was a mixed reaction. He was excited then he seemed a little bit jealous. I think he may be realizing that his reign as the sole center of attention may be coming to an end.

"Maybe if i pretend im a newborn again, they'll forget about this new guy!"

Now he’ll have to share the spotlight with his little brother. They say that competition spurs innovation, so now these two boys will have to come up with more fascinating ways to amuse us.

"dang! its already 2006?"

We spent this New Year with the family. Although it was low key we actually had a great time. The Gonzalez's/Guiets' got together with the Sardisco's and ordered in Lucille's ribs and chicken (mmmmmmm). There was plenty of wine, tequila, and champagne and the ladies provided the dessert. After dinner we all played LCR ( Tia Nemesia won the grand prize pot of $11...high rollers!!) and then we had a real white elephant gift raffle (something lying around the house that you don't want or some horridly ugly item that someone gave you as a gift or some other item unwanted for some reason). Chris and Angelina brought the best present, that they actually recieved for their wedding this past year: a pair of champagne glasses, but each stem had a man and a women with one arm stretched out and when the glasses were next to each other, their hands clasped. Classic.

So we all had a great time, and hopefully it means we'll have a fun and happy 2006!
